Microdermabrasion and dermaplaning are two non-invasive methods for achieving a deep exfoliation of your skin. Microdermabrasion uses a diamond-tipped wand combined with mild suction to remove the layer of dead cells that naturally accumulate on the surface of your skin. The same results are seen with dermaplane, which uses an aesthetic tool instead of the wand. An advantage of the dermaplane is that it also removes the fine vellus facial hairs, which many women don’t like.

  • Non-invasive, no downtime treatments
  • Leaves skin healthier, smoother and softer
  • Can be combined with any of our facials or done separately

Microdermabrasion is a non-chemical, non-invasive procedure that can treat fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, brown spots, acne scars, and poor texture. Microdermabrasion uses diamond-tipped wands combined with vacuum suction to exfoliate the epidermis of the skin, which is where dead skin cells gather. This exfoliation stimulates new collagen production. Microdermabrasion can be done on its own or combined with any of our peels or facials.

What should I expect after having Microdermabrasion?

After receiving a Microdermabrasion treatment, many clients immediately feel that their skin is softer, smoother, and more radiant appearing. Products go on more smoothly and can penetrate into the dermis (where they are most effective) more easily. Occasionally, clients will notice slight redness or dryness for about 24 hours. It is important to avoid sun exposure immediately after this treatment and to wear high-quality sunscreen. Retinol, Retin-A, or other exfoliating products should be avoided for 3-4 days before and after your Microdermabrasion treatment. Makeup application is completely safe immediately after the procedure.

Are there any risks involved with Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is virtually risk-free and is a powerful but gentle and non-invasive skin treatment. As long as you follow post-procedure instructions, you have nothing to worry about.
